How do I cloak and / or uncloak a contact or a number?
Long press on a contact to cloak / uncloak all numbers for a contact.

Long press on a contact's number to cloak / uncloak a single number.
The icon positioned to the right of a contact or number shows the associated cloaking status:
- contact's numbers are all cloaked,
- contact's numbers are all uncloaked,
- contact has a mix of cloaked and uncloaked numbers.,
How do I dial a cloaked number?
Make sure the number or contact is cloaked and then simply quick press the phone number in question.
Where are contact details stored?
Can I force a Cloakfone Android contact database refresh ?
Yes. Swipe down on the contact list.
What are the "*31#" and "#31#" uncloaking and cloaking prefixes ?
These values are prepended to a phone number before dialling and instruct the facilitating telecommunication provider to display or hide the caller's phone number for the immediately ensuing call.
Will Cloakfone always hide my phone number when I make a phone call ?
Almost always. Whilst the underlying capability is supported by most telecommunication providers, availability may be subject to additional telecommunication charges and / or availability may be subject to exceptions.
Are the uncloaking and cloaking prefixes the same across all telecommunication providers ?
Largely. Some possible exceptions have been identified, hence providing the means to change prefixes (see the Cloakfone Prefixes page for more detail)
Will Cloakfone hide my SMS (texting) number ?
No. Cloaking is limited to phone calls only.
What is the default if I do not cloak a number ?
This is defined under Dialing settings and can be set to Default cloak or Default uncloak as required.
Can I synchronize Cloakfone settings between two smartphones ?
Yes by exporting from one device and importing on the other.

By design NO information is transferred off your smartphone by Cloakfone. Automated synchronization requires the transfer of data to cloud based servers, hence the aforementioned two-step export / import requirement.

Subject to demand an automated synchronisation version may be provided. If it is however it will be a separately identifiable version.
How do I send a request for support ?
Send a support email using the Send support diagnostics menu option. Make sure to include a clear description of the issue at hand.

I have a questionable family pedigree and / or equally questionable business ethics, should I use Cloakfone ?
No (and we are resurrecting the Haast Eagle for those who feel inclined to test the waters).
